The premise of these meetings is this: we suggest that fragrance is the oldest and most fundamental medium of expression—the primary currency of information about life on Earth. Here we endeavor to tap this wellspring in order to gain insights into the nature of life.
Here is what you can expect: various extracts, by way of scent strips, are passed around a table for all to experience, after which we might share our impressions. Everyone receives a handout with descriptive terminology likely to be useful for the featured aromatic expressions, and so in this way these exercises will serve to strengthen our acumen for sensory-description and our ability to employ the connoisseur's lexicon. A discussion leader may sometimes raise questions pertaining to the featured expressions.
And an aromatic libation shall be served at each meeting!
